We have done this as a service to you the consumer. We do not get paid by any companies or persons mentioned herein. Whether you are in the market for a door chime or are just browsing to see what safety measures are out there take a moment to see what we have here for you! I guarantee that you will find something useful here, even if it’s just an answer to a question you’ve had!

I became interested in door chimes when I was visiting in England a few summers ago. In a little village outside of London we came across an antique shop that was selling several old door chimes. We bought one and brought it home for the back door. A few weeks later my mother, who was 75 at the time asked if she could use it on her back door. I took it over and she wanted to rig it up so the door chime would ring whenever the back door opened. I told her it was fine to do that but that I was sure there must be a better way to protect her home! She is an avid gardener and didn’t want to be “cooped up” with a huge alarm system.

I found a really great decorative circa 1960’s door chime that was still functioning, we put it in the entryway. For my mother we had an infrared door chime installed in her back door. This way she was able to come and go as she pleased but with the security of knowing if someone else was coming too!

Whatever your reason for needing door chimes there is a solution! That’s the great thing about this low-security feature. You’ll notice anytime you come and go into any shop there’s usually a door chime. This is because it alerts the store clerk and employees to the presence of another person in the store. Someone to keep an eye on! Even if you’re just a collector, door chimes have a long and interesting history that has evolved into a state- of – the- art security system that is used everywhere from your humble home to billion dollar enterprises! So, please enjoy your time here!
